What is an Anti-Cheat?​

An Anti-Cheat is a program that is designed to prevent, detect, and block cheating in video games.
Aqua Client offers an Anti-Cheat to ensure that all players are playing fairly and to maintain a level playing field for all users.

What does Aqua Client's Anti-Cheat block?​

Aqua Client's Anti-Cheat is designed to block a variety of cheats, including but not limited to:

  • Hacked Clients
  • Unfair Game Modifications
  • Resource Packs that provide an unfair advantage (e.g. X-Ray)

Does Aqua Client's Anti-Cheat respect my privacy?​

The Anti-Cheat is only active when you are playing on a server that has opted to use Aqua Client's Anti-Cheat.

We built Aqua Client's Anti-Cheat with privacy in mind and believe in transparency.
We make sure to collect only the necessary data to ensure that the Anti-Cheat is working as intended.
We do not collect any personal data or information that is not necessary for the Anti-Cheat to function.
The Anti-Cheat collects data such as:

  • Minecraft UUID of the player
  • Server Hostname
  • Resource Packs
  • Active Mods
  • IP Address of the player
  • OS Username

How is this data used?​

The data collected by the Anti-Cheat is processed in real-time to detect and block cheats.
Data is deleted when the Anti-Cheat has finished processing it and has deemed the player to be playing fairly.
If cheating is detected, the player will be kicked from the server and the data will be stored for further analysis.
The data is stored securely in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is only accessible by Aqua Studios staff.
Server partners do not have access to the data collected by the Anti-Cheat, instead they are provided with a brief summary of the Anti-Cheat's findings such as the reason for the kick and the player's UUID. (e.g. "Player was kicked for using X-Ray")

Can I request my data to be deleted?​

Your data is deleted immediately after the Anti-Cheat has finished processing it and has deemed you to be playing fairly.
If the Anti-Cheat has detected cheating, the data will be stored for further analysis for up to 7 days.
